The Maldives Hajj Corporation has signed an agreement with the national airline, Maldivian, towards arranging the pilgrimage trips for this year.

The signing ceremony was held at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs on Monday, February 17, 2025. Maldives Hajj Corporation's Managing Director Mohamed Shakeel signed the agreement on behalf of the state-owned company and Maldivian's Managing Director Ibrahim Iyas signed on behalf of the airline.

While speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohamed Shaheem said that Maldivians are able to travel to Saudi Arabia for Hajj pilgrimage via their national carrier after years owing to the meticulous efforts of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

Dr. Shaheem also thanked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Mohamed Ameen in realizing the initiative.

Maldivian reports at least 50 percent of all Hajj pilgrims will be flown to Saudi Arabia via the airline this year.
