Distribution of Saudi-donated dates to begin on Mon

The distribution of dates donated by the Saudi government to the Maldives is set begin on Monday.

The Saudi government donates dates to Maldives for Ramadan each year.

This year, the Saudi government donated 50 tons of dates.

According to the Islamic Ministry, distribution of the dates will take place from 09:30 am to 01:00 pm on working days from January 20 to February 6.

The distribution of dates to residents of Male’ City, Hulhumale’ and Vilimale’ will be conducted by the Islamic Ministry out of the Islamic Center in Male’. And in the atolls, the distribution will be carried out through respective local councils.

According to the Islamic Ministry, the dates will be distributed at the rate of one packet per household on a first come, first served basis.

Those who come to collect the dates will be required to show their national ID card. Officials will also check the number of the electric meter board of the household.
