The Maldives Police Service on Friday said that the authority with the help of Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) are looking for a man who went missing after falling overboard a safari vessel.

According to police, they are looking for Ali Arushad, 35 years, from Noonu Hulhudhoo. He reportedly fell overboard the vessel some time on Thursday evening.

The vessel had been berthed near a tourist resort in Alif Dhaalu atoll at the time of the incident.

Police said that the CCTV footage of the vessel showed the man falling from the top deck and hit the side of a lower deck before falling into the water.

The authority along with MNDF’s support are currently trying to find the man.
