Two people have died in Gaafu Alif Vilingili this morning due to heart attacks.
The two people have been identified as 33 year old Ismath Nizar, Gaafu Alif Vilingili Moonima Villa and 58 year old Ahmed Haris, Gaafu Alif Vilingili Irumathige.
Person in-charge of Vilingili hospital Fathimath Asma said that Ismath was already dead when he reached the hospital and that Haris died while being treated, shortly after being brought to the hospital. They both died of a myocardial infarction (heart attack).
“Ismath works in the Koodoo. He sometimes gets panic attacks, was brought here because he was having chest pains and panicking. He was already dead when he brought in. He died because of a heart attack. As for Haris, he didn’t have a BP when he was brought in, although he was breathing. He too died of a heart problem,” Asama said.
She also said that none of the two people have records of drug abuse and that tests for drugs came up negative.
Sun is not yet aware of any connection between these two deaths and death of the person who died in Hulhumale’ two nights ago, or the death of the person who was found dead in Male’ early this morning.
In relation to the Vilingili deaths, Police have said that Ismath died after experiencing breathing difficulties while working at Koodoo, and that Haaris also died after experiencing breathing difficulties while he was out fishing.
