Man found dead in Maafannu home; police rule out foul play

The police have ruled out foul play in the death of a 57-year-old man found dead in a home in the Maafannu district of Male’ City on Tuesday night.

The incident was reported to the police at around 11:33 pm Tuesday.

A police spokesperson on Wednesday morning identified the deceased as Ahmed Fayaz, 57, M. Nalahiya Manzil, K. Male’.

The spokesperson said that there were no outward signs of injury.

“…and the investigation has not uncovered anything suspicious,” added the spokesperson.

 In an earlier statement, the police said the man was found dead in a room on the third floor of a house in Maafannu. The police did not specify the name of the house.

However, photos shared on social media shows the house is located next to Eve Clinic, near the Maafannu Clock Tower.
