‘Faxy’s Hijama Therapy’ which is in operation without a license has been ordered to cease services.
Health Ministry said they met with ‘Faxy’s Hijama Therapy’ owner Fazeela Usman in light of complaints received to the Ministry during which she was ordered to cease the provision of hijama services (cupping) and instructed to undergo registration in order to provide the service.
The government ordered ‘Faxy’s Hijama Therapy’ to cease the cupping services provided at the facility until they are registered and issued the operating license.
The Ministry said they have also instructed to take down the advertisements posted on social media promoting medical services under ‘Faxy’s Hijama Therapy’ as it cannot be done without the Ministry’s permit.
As patients’ medical records can only be publicized with the permission of the patients, the Ministry has also instructed to remove such reports publicized on social media while also stressing the information on the reports cannot be verified as the most correct or safe.
Health Ministry said Fazeela has been warned of action by the Ministry in collaboration with the relevant authorities in line with powers vested with the Ministry under Article 20 of the Healthcare Provision Act to take against facilities providing medical services without registering and obtaining license.
The Ministry had warned Fazeela against providing cupping services without registering and obtaining the operating license back in 2019 as well.
Health Ministry has also released a statement warning it will be taking action against facilities that a providing healthcare services including cupping and alternative medicinal services without registration and license.
