Youth Ministry signs grant agreements with 10 NGOs, including Salaf

Youth Ministry has begun signing agreements with non-governmental organizations that are approved for grants, including Jamiyyath Salaf.

The ministry signed agreements with 10 NGOs on Sunday, and is scheduled to sign with more organizations on Monday.

The NGOs that the ministry signed agreements with on Sunday are:

  • Jamiyyath Salaf
  • Dhuvaafaru Youth Movement
  • Icons Association
  • Thulhaadhoo Silver Shines Club
  • Diabetes Society of Maldives
  • Hulhudheli Island Social and Sports Association
  • Topsy
  • Association for Mathiveri Sports and Awareness
  • Gamu Zuvaanunge Jamiyya
  • Society for Thundi Advancement and Recreation

The Youth Ministry announced the decision to extend financial support to local NGOs to execute community empowerment projects.

Under the initial phase of the program, the ministry aims to provide financial support for small, medium, and extensive community-centric initiatives by the associations.

The ministry said the program aims to encourage local NGOs in their efforts to empower local communities, endorse and assist in these endeavors and expand the role of such associations in the national development.
