Maldives Immigration deports expatriates involved in running a large-scale prostitution ring.

Immigration and Maldives Police Service conducted an inspection on August 11th based on an intelligence report police received. Following the inspection, Immigration took custody of four foreigners, three women, aged 36, 38, and 41, and one man, aged 35, and subsequently deported barring entry into the Maldives.

A lot of these prostitution activities in the Maldives are run through beauty salons and registered spas acting as legitimate fronts.

This deportation is the latest in the ongoing crackdown led by Maldives Immigration and other law enforcement authorities against illegal expatriates and foreigners operating businesses illegally.

Earlier in August, authorities deported two foreigners, with social media popularity, for operating beauty salons illegally.
