Person falling from Male' City building passed away

The individual who fell from a Male’ City building on Wednesday afternoon has passed, authorities confirmed.

Maldives Police Service confirmed via X that the individual who was taken to hospital after falling from a high-rise passed away not longer after they were taken for treatment.

While police have confirmed they are investigating the case, the authority has also advised the public to refrain from sharing the incident’s video on social media to respect the sentiments of the victim’s family.

Despite police making the request, some videos of the incident have already been shared across social media platforms.

The individual reportedly fell from the ninth floor of a building near Maldives Customs Service in Maafannu, Male’ City.

Although rumors claim the deceased is a woman, police have not confirmed it.
