Nimal appointed as LGA’s new chief

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Mohamed Nimal as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Local Government Authority (LGA).

Nimal, the former Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation, was presented with his letter of appointment in a ceremony held at the President’s Office on Monday morning.

Nimal previously served as the President of the K. Atoll Council. He had also served as Minister Counsellor, at the Maldives High Commission in Sri Lanka, Managing Director of Maldives Road Development Corporation (MRDC), and Deputy Minister of Tourism.

He received his Bachelor of Business (Marketing) from Charles Sturt University, Australia.

Nimal’s appointment comes a day after LGA’s former CEO, Dr. Mariyam Zulfa was dismissed from the post and appointed as State Minister at the Foreign Ministry.

The government has made no official comment regarding the reason for the reshuffle.
