Man arrested for stealing prayer-goer’s bag from Salman Mosque

The police have made an arrest after a bag was stolen from the Salman Mosque located in the Henveiru district of Male’ City.

The police arrested a 42-year-old man, who court records show as a native of Fuvahmulah City, on Thursday.

He was presented before the Criminal Court for his remand hearing on Friday.

The court remanded him custody of the police for 10 days.

Court documents show the man is accused of stealing a bag that belonged to a person who went to pray at the Salman Mosque.

He was caught on CCTV camera exiting the mosque area carrying the stolen bag.

The court documents also show he has a prior record for similar crimes.
