Tourism Ministry statistics show that Maldives has recorded a total of 1.1 million tourist arrivals so far this year.
As per the latest statistics from the Ministry stated Saturday, Maldives has recorded 1.1 million tourist arrivals. They account for 103,349 arrivals in July so far, which is a 12.9 percent increase compared to 91,510 arrivals in the same period last year.
The highest number of tourist arrivals in July was recorded last Wednesday with 5,886 arrivals.
The highest number of tourist arrivals to the Maldives so far this year has been from China, accounting for 12.8 percent of the total arrivals with 143,036 tourists.
The second highest tourist arrivals were recorded from Russia with 118,291 arrivals accounting for 10.6 percent of the total arrivals.
The third highest tourist arrivals were recorded from the UK with 100,313 arrivals accounting for nine percent of the total arrivals.
The daily arrival average currently stands at 5,539 tourists per day, while the average duration of stay stands at seven days.
Maldives, which won the 2023 WTA for World's Leading Destination for the fourth consecutive year, expects a record 2 million tourist arrivals this year.
The country recorded 1.8 million tourists last year and 1.6 million tourists the year before.
