Strong interest for Thilafushi plots, next round on availability: HDC

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) on Monday said it received significant interest from potential buyers for plots in Thilafushi for commercial purposes, and added additional round will be announced based on plot availability.

HDC announced lease of plots from Thilafushi for industrial purposes in May, but was reannounced last Friday after amendments to the information sheet.

The corporation said it will begin issuing plots based on availability for the Expression of Interest (EOI) submissions received as of this Sunday. The plots will be issued according to the corporation’s policies and Thilafushi master plan.

HDC further promised a second round would be announced if plots are available after issuance of plots to the current EOI submissions.

HDC announced sale of 108 total plots for commercial purposes through bidding. Plot sales will proceed under two stages.

Interested proponents are required to submit EOIs in the first stage, while the plots will be opened for bidding if more than one party expresses interest for the same plot.
