Pres congratulates new Nepalese PM, assures cooperation

This marks the fourth PM stint of the 72-year-old Oli, who was appointed for the position after his predecessor Dahal recently lost his PM tenure following a no confidence vote.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has congratulated Rt Honorable KP Sharma Oli for his appointment as the new Prime Minister of Nepal.

In a post shared on X, President Dr. Muizzu congratulated Sharma’s appointment, and said the two countries enjoyed close people-to-people connections.

“I look forward to working with you to enhance bilateral cooperation between our two countries,” President Muizzu said on X.

This is the fourth time 72-year-old Oli is being appointed as the Nepalese Prime Minister.

He has ascended to the PM’s position after Pushpa Kamal Dahal lost a vote of confidence on July 12, this year in the Nepali Congress after 194 out of the present 258 members voted against his favor resulting in the culmination of his third tenure as prime minister.
