Pakistan High Commission in the Maldives, on behalf of the Government of Pakistan, has gifted 32 smart TVs to Salahuddin School in Hulhumale’ Phase II.

The smart TVs were handed over during a ceremony held at the school on Thursday by High Commissioner Vice Admiral (Retired) Muhammad Fayyaz Gilani. They were received by Minister of State for Education Dr. Abdul Latheef Mohamed and Salahuddin School Principal Naisha Idrees.

The gift is aimed at aiding the digitalization of the classrooms.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, High Commissioner Gilani expressed his pleasure in extending assistance with the required equipment to the school, adding they would contribute greatly in imparting education in an efficient manner. In this trajectory, he expressed hope that the equipment will aid in imparting instructions at school.

Underscoring that education is undeniably crucial for shaping individuals and societies in present times, High Commissioner Gilani nevertheless stressed that education was not solely about attaining credentials but also about empowering individuals and catalyzing positive societal transformation.

He extended appreciation to Salahuddin School’s management, principal and her term in addition to the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) for their sincere efforts in uplifting the education standards at the school.

State Minister Abdul Latheef, who also spoke at the ceremony, appreciated the contribution by Pakistan in the education sector in the Maldives and affirmed the Maldivian government’s commitment to continue working together in areas of mutual interest.

Principal Nasiha also extended gratitude to the Government of Pakistan and the High Commissioner for the gift, while highlighting the importance of the valuable assistance.

Thursday’s handover ceremony was also attended by Deputy High Commissioner Zulqurnain Ahmad, teachers, parents, students, and members of the PTA.

Students dressed in colorful Maldivian traditional dresses thanked Pakistan for meeting their education needs and prayed for the success of Pakistan.
