HDC cautions public of recent scam messages

Housing Development Corporation (HDC), on Monday said the recent messages bearing its name, are scam texts.

The corporation in a statement confirmed, the messages were not sent by HDC and cautioned the public not to follow any instructions in future messages bearing its name.

While HDC said it has now resolved issues customers observed to their payment receipts on Sunday evening, the corporation is now working with Maldives Police Service regarding a potential data leak of its customers.

Data related to HDC customers have been circulating on social media platforms recently.

Highlighting HDC prioritized the privacy and confidentiality of its customers, the corporation warned not to share sensitive data including one-time passwords (OTPs) with suspicious contacts.
