Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has begun inspecting residences of the Flat Committee members employed during the previous government.

According to reports, ACC raided former chair of the flat committee, former State Minister of Housing Ministry Akram Kamaluddin, Ahmed Visan Naseem, Mohamed Arif, and Liruam Waheed.

Speaking with 'Sun', ACC said their inspections are part of the ongoing investigation by the commission related to the Gedhoruveriya Scheme's first round.

ACC began criminal investigations after allegations of foul play were made regarding the final list of Gedhoruveriya scheme's recipients.

Following months-long limbo in the housing scheme, ACC permitted issuance of the units after a reviewal.

Despite green-lighting the issuance of flats, ACC claimed 59.6 percent of the recipients were ineligible.
