Seaplane involved in accident while landing at resort after floats detach

A seaplane attempting to land at a resort in Baa Atoll was involved in an accident on Sunday after its floats detached.

A viral video on social media shows the seaplane, belonging to Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA), taking in water as a result of the accident.

MNDF confirmed to Sun that an accident involving a seaplane attempting to land at a resort in Baa Atoll was reported to the authority, however, said they are unaware whether anyone was injured in the accident.

MNDF added that all passengers aboard the seaplane were brought back to Male’, however, did not provide any further details.

In a message to the media, the Police said an accident involving a seaplane during an attempt to land was reported to the authority, adding no one was injured in the accident.
