PG enhance same-day criminal record clearance, under 10 minutes via online

Prosecutor General's Office has facilitated same-day criminal record clearance.

Previously, the policy for PG was to issue criminal records one day after the date of submission of request.

The office on Thursday said, criminal record clearance requests submitted during morning, will be issued after 13:00hrs on the same day. Additionally, requests submitted after 12:00hrs will be issued before 09:00hrs on the following day.

Clearance of criminal records for individuals without any priors, was provided in less than a minute effective December 2023. PG Office has expanded its capacity to provide the same service for 30 individuals simultaneously.

Generally, for requests made online, the criminal records are issued within 10 minutes. Those without priors will be notified immediately of their status.

"We aim to enhance easy and seamless services for the public, promptly and responsibly," PG said.

Previously, the office declared it can clear a maximum of 13,000 records per annum.
