Teen boy seriously injured in Ukulhas accident brought to Male’

The teen boy who was seriously injured after he lost control of the motorbike he was driving at the reclaimed area in AA. Ukulhas has been transported to Male’ City for further treatment.

Police, in a message to the media, identified the injured boy as a 17-year-old. They received the report of the boy being treated at the island’s Health Centre at approximately 2:30pm this afternoon.

A family member of the injured boy confirmed to Sun that the boy has been transported to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in Male’ City for further treatment. The family member detailed that a CT scan was performed to identify the injuries the boy sustained.

Although he sustained no injuries to the brain, he had sustained deep lacerations to his head, hands and legs, the family member said.

According to the family member, the accident occurred while the boy was with his friends at the reclaimed area. The boy lost control of the motorcycle after going over a rock which led to the vehicle skidding.

“The area is a completely vacant area,” the family member added.

The family member described the boy as someone who has good driving skills.

Only the injured boy was on the motorbike at the time of the accident.

Police is investigating the case further.
