Tree Top Hospital (TTH) has begun providing full coverage under the national health insurance sheme, Aasandha, for Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) procedures.
“This decision will provide much-needed financial support to couples struggling with infertility and seeking IUI as a viable option for conception,” said TTH, in a statement announcing the decision.
Previously, IUI procedures had received only partial coverage, leaving a financial burden on couples undergoing the treatment.
The new policy eliminates that barrier, making IUI a more accessible and realistic option for many couples in the Maldives.
TTH reports that it proud to offer the services of skilled and compassionate fertility specialists in treating infertility related issues.
“We are dedicated to helping couples achieve their dream of starting a family,” reads the hospital’s statement.
With a dedicated team of accomplished reproductive specialists and the state-of-the-art technology, TTH have been able to achieve a remarkable advancement in In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and IUI procedures.
“At Tree Top Hospital, we are committed to providing the most advanced care to help patients achieve their dreams of parenthood. The Aasandha National Health Insurance Scheme's full coverage of Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) procedures is a significant step forward for Maldivian families,” said Dr. Srivatsan Sridhar, the CEO of TTH.
Meanwhile, Dr. Anita Gour, obstetrician and gynecologist, and the head of TTH Fertility Center, expressed delight by the news.
"As a fertility specialist, I'm delighted by this news! Aasandha's full coverage of IUI procedures removes a major financial barrier for couples seeking to build a family. This will allow us to help many more patients achieve their dream of parenthood,” she said.
