The Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) held a flag hoisting ceremony on Sunday, to mark the service’s 132nd anniversary.
The ceremony, held at 06:00 am at the Kalhuthukkala Koshi, was attended by Defense Minister Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon, Chief of Defense Force Major General Ibrahim Hilmy, military generals, officers, warrant officers, and enlisted officers.
At the ceremony, Ghassan unveiled the theme for the MNDF’s 132nd anniversary; “the country’s independence – soldiers’ resoluteness”.
He also released the 32nd edition of the MNDF’s biannual magazine “Addana.”
The ceremony concluded with a prayer and the military anthem.
Flag hoisting ceremonies were held in all centers at MNDF area commands.
MNDF was established on April 21, 1892.
