Dhiraagu wins Maldives’ telecom company of the year at ATA 2024

Dhiraagu was crowned Maldives’ broadband telecom company of the year Asian Telecom Awards (ATA) 2024.

ATA recognizes exceptional accomplishments within the telecom industry in the region, highlighting significant advancements made by companies to reshape the digital landscape.

Dhiraagu states the award of Maldives’ broadband telecom company of the year at ATA recognizes the company’s efforts to develop the telecom and digital network of the country and provide high-speed mobile and fibre broadband connectivity to a dispersed island nation with geographical challenges.

“This achievement highlights our dedication to delivering exceptional service to our customers and our efforts to provide high-speed internet connectivity across the nation,” said Dhiraagu’s CEO, Managing Director Ismail Rasheed.

He also extended heartfelt gratitude to all Dhiraagu customers for being on the network.

Dhiraagu provides 100 percent 4G broadband coverage across all 187 inhabited Maldivian islands, all resorts, and major industrial islands. The company has also extended its fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) service to 94 percent of the households across the nation within the last year. Dhiraagu 5G coverage is also now available to 50 percent of the population.

The company was recently recognized as the ‘Fastest Mobile Network in the Maldives’ by Ookla® Speedtest AwardsTM for the third consecutive year.
