The Housing Ministry has released the list of applicants for the second phase of the two state housing schemes ‘Binveriya’ and ‘Gedhoruveriya’.
The list was published on the Gedhoruverin Portal on Thursday night.
The Housing Ministry has asked that applicants whose names aren’t on the list submit complaints via email to [email protected] by 02:00 pm on November 30.
21,247 people applied for flats under the ‘Gedhoruveriya’ scheme, and 19,347 for land under the ‘Binveriya’ scheme.
The Housing Ministry previously announced that over 4,000 plots of land and 8,000 flats will be issued under the second phase of the housing schemes.
The second round of the housing schemes had been announced by the outgoing president Ibrahim Mohamed Solih during the recent presidential campaign.
President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu – who takes office on Friday – has previously stated he will not cancel applicants for the housing schemes.
The permanent list of recipients of the first round of ‘Binveriya’ scheme was announced back in August, while the permanent list of recipients of the first round of ‘Gedhoruveriya’ scheme was announced on November 4.
However, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has instructed a halt to the issuance of flats under the ‘Gedhoruveriya’ scheme, as they investigate complaints.
