Nearly 100 cases of crime have been recorded across the country during the past two days including people taken into police custody and people questioned by the police.
Police statistics show that during the past two days, up until 9:30 this morning, police have started investigating 97 cases. Drug cases are the highest with 28 cases while traffic violations stand second with investigations initiated on 24 cases. Investigations for 21 robbery cases and 8 cases of sexual misconduct were also undertaken.
For assault, 4 cases have been reported while 2 investigations have been initiated on suspicion of disturbing public order. The number of bounced cheque cases filed stand at 3 along with 3 other cases of lost property and 2 cases related to treason.
Police have also started looking into 2 cases of domestic violence and 1 case of theft.
Records show that more than 17,000 cases were submitted to the police last year. At the top of the list stands robbery with a total of 6,570 cases.
