Gov publicizes recipient list for land in Male' region

List of recipients of 5000 land plots under the current administrations ‘Binveriyaa’ scheme has been gazetted on Monday.

 The government opened application for Binveriyaa scheme for land plots to be given from the reclaimed areas in Hulhumale’ and Gulhifalhu, and the 4000 flats being developed in Hulhumale on June 26 of last year.

By the time the deadline for application closed on October 15, almost 36,000 applications were received for the schemes. This includes 15,164 application for land plots, 14,489 applications for three room flats and 6,208 applications for two room apartments.

Speaking at the press conference held regarding the list publicized, the Minister of Planning Mohamed Aslam said that compilation of those receiving flats was almost completed, and that there is not much waiting left for it.

Also speaking to the press, the Senior Executive Director for Planning Ministry Mohamed Arif said the ported created especially to submit forms for the schemes received applications from 64 countries.

He also noted that the Binveriyaa scheme’s 15,164 applications had listed 23,088 individuals. Basic criteria was met in 12,794 of the forms and for 19,857 people.

The list announced today includes 10,314 names. Planning Ministry stated that there are 9,500 people who met the requirements, but were not included in the list, and assured that they will be receiving land as well.

Minister Aslam said that complaints regarding this list will be accepted until July 15.
