Maldivian reduces ticket prices

Island Aviation has reduced the prices of internal flight tickets by Rf 50, following the cut in import duty on Jet A1 fuel used on airplanes.

An official of the Company said today that with the cut in the import duty on Jet A1fuel, the prices of one-way tickets of internal flight operated by Island Aviation will be reduced by Rf 25. However, this reduction will not be obvious due to the imposition of 6% GST.

“There will be no change because of the imposition of GST,” Official said.

Maldivian said that even though import duty on fuel is cut, Rf 424 will be imposed as fuel charges.
