Police catch taxi that fled with MVR 150,000 worth electronics

Police, on Friday, stated they identified a car that did not drop MVR 150,000 worth of electronics at the requested location after loading the goods to the vehicle from Velana International Airport (VIA).

Police said the goods were loaded into a car hailed from the airport taxi queue on Thursday evening. Maafannu Police located the goods after reviewing CCTV footage. The goods have now been returned to their owner.

They did not disclose whether the taxi driver had been penalized in any way.

Police, stressing their readiness to assist the public at any given moment, urged to report crimes or suspected crimes at the earliest.
