Vice President Faisal Naseem, on Thursday, called for the collaboration of all stakeholders on fostering a law-abiding and healthy community.
He made the appeal while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of 'Inmates Creativity Fair 2023,' organized by the Maldives Correctional Service, held at K. Maafushi School.
Speaking at the ceremony, VP Faisal stressed the administration’s dedicated efforts to enhancing prison conditions and prioritizing the well-being of inmates. On this note, he underscored the administration's focus on implementing educational, skill development, and employment programs to rehabilitate and reintegrate inmates into society effectively.
The vice president also called on all stakeholders to collaborate on fostering a law-abiding and healthy community.
Inmates Creativity Fair, held from Thursday through Friday, is aimed at facilitating the reintegration of convicts into society by showcasing the diverse talents they have acquired.
The fair is a platform to exhibit the artistic skills, products, and crafts of 40 participating inmates, featuring a diverse range of 800 handicraft items, paintings, and 2,400 plants and produce.
VP Faisal toured the fair, viewed the exhibits and interacted with the inmates after the inauguration ceremony.
