President Solih: Reflect on national development needs when nurturing kids

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on Wednesday, urged the public to reflect on the national developmental needs when nurturing and upbringing children. 

He made the appeal in his message to the nation on Children’s Day. The President said that Children’s Day is commemorated to promote child welfare and increase public awareness of their rights.

The president, describing children as shoots nurtured to lead the nation’s future, asked parents and guardians to consider teaching children about current social concerns and issues.

In this regard, he stressed that the state, community, parents, and guardians have a responsibility to raise every child with the skills and mindset required to boost national development further in their chosen field.

He also said parents and guardians must ensure children are provided love and care from birth while they should also ensure every child grow up in an environment that gives precedence to their health and wellbeing, provides the necessary guidance and care, and instills in them the virtues of righteous behavior. 

President Solih, in his message, reiterated children's rights and the importance of celebrating Children's Day. On this note, he remarked that Children’s Day is commemorated to promote child welfare and increase public awareness of their rights.

He also sent Children’s Day greetings and wishes to all children, parents, guardians, and teachers in his message.
