President Solih: Women have to be empowered digitally for a digital future

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on Wednesday, has remarked the importance of empowering women in the digital field as the world moves forward toward a digital future.

In a tweet on the occasion of International Women’s Day celebrated today – President Solih reminded the undeniably irreplaceable role women play in uplifting the community.

Underscoring the world was headed toward a digital future in his tweet – President Solih emphasized on the importance of focusing on bridging the gender digital divide to ensure women are empowered to shape the digital future.

President, in earliest statements, has said it was his administration’s aim to increase the number of women working in senior government posts.

In this regard, one of his administration’s most important policies presently being implemented is the empowerment of women in politics, economy and social sectors.

The current administration, to establish gender quality in all sectors, has also formulated a Gender Action Plan to achieve the goal.
