The three segments of Ameenee Magu where asphalt has been laid has been reopened to public.

Road Development Corporation (RDC) announced the decision Sunday.

RDC said that though the area has been reopened, some of the finishing work continues.

Meanwhile, Moonima Hingun has been closed for installation of the storm water system.

The project to develop Ameenee Magu was contracted by the Planning Ministry to the Road Development Corporation (RDC) – which subcontracted asphalt works to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).

MTCC completed work on laying asphalt in 380 meters of roads in a single night on February 14.

State Minister for Planning Akram Kamaluddin states they expect to be able to complete laying asphalt on the entire Ameenee Magu in July.
