Male’ City Council opens waste management section

Male’ City Council on Sunday opened a waste management section, in order to strengthen waste collection services. 

The new section was officially inaugurated by the Mayor of Male’ City Dr Mohamed Muizzu. 

Speaking after the inauguration, Dr Muizzu said that the office was opened to fill the lack of an administrative space for the work done by council regarding waste collection and management within Male’.
He went on to note that all administrative and managerial staff would now have enough space to work in the new office. A total of 255 staff will be working there, he revealed. 

Additionally, he said that after a few more  steps, cleaning up of Male’ would be strengthened.

Till December 26, 2022, cleaning and waste collection in Male’ City was done by Waste Management Corporation.
