Maldivian and Indian celebs star in Tournival football match

An exciting football match took place at the Galolhu National Stadium in Male’ on Friday, featuring celebrities from Maldives and India.

The match, held as part of the Tournival, featured actors, models and more, divided between two teams; Rockstars and Superstars.

The referee was Maldivian comedian Hussain Shaadhu (Matey).

The stars who participated included Indian actors Aftab Shivdasani, Rohit Roy, Anoop Singh, and Sharman Joshi, and Maldivian actors Yoosuf Shafeeu (Yooppe), Ali Seazan, and Jadhulla Ismail (Jaadhu).

The match was spectated by Higher Education Minister Dr. Ibrahim Hassan and Indian High Commissioner Munu Mahawar.

The match was also attended by Indian actress Urvashi Rautela.

The Superstars – featuring Yooppe, Aftab and Jaadhu – beat the Rockstars 14-11.

Tournival is organized by India’s Anyelp. The celebrity football match will be followed by a carnival on January 29.

The Tournival is the first such international event with celebrities from Maldives and India to be held in Maldives.

According to Anyelp, the main purpose of Tournival is to exchange experiences of the film industry and culture of the two countries.
