Sujatha Haleem has been appointed as the CEO of Maldives Pension Administration Office.

Sujatha had served as Acting CEO for the nearly two years prior to her appointment as CEO on Monday. She had also served as COO since 2015.

Sujatha has worked in the frontlines of efforts to introduce a modern and sustainable pension system in Maldives for the past 16 years.

She ran the World Bank-funded pension and social administration project in Maldives, and had played a key role in drafting and implementing the Pension Act.

“We believe that under her guidance and leadership, we will be able to take Pension Office to new heights,” said the Pension Office’s Board, in a statement welcoming her appointment.

Sujatha replaces John Grindal, who was dismissed for misconduct last year.
