Sticker issued to 538 vehicles in five days for parking in the way of buses

Traffic violation sticker has been issued to 538 vehicles for having parked in the way minibus routes in Male’ City.

Police have previously stated that following the commence of minibus service in the Maldives, vehicles parked on bus routes, on their way, will be issued traffic violation stickers and towed, under necessary circumstances.

In this regard, the police revealed on Sunday that 538 vehicles were issued traffic violation stickers while 30 motorbikes and one car were towed between September 6 and September 10 – for having parked in the way of buses.

Police assured that they would continue to solve traffic issues on minibus routes.

Traffic changes were made to the roads on minibus routes ahead of the commencement of service.

Minibuses operate daily from 5:45 to 0:15 on three routes; Ameenee route, Soasun route, and Orchid route. All in all, there are 40 bus stops. Buses will be stopping at each stop once every 10 to 15 minutes.

A total of 18 buses will be operating in Male’, out of which eight have ramps and wheelchair access.
