Parliament approves Shaheeb, Hussain Didi as ambassadors to India, Malaysia

Parliament, on Thursday, has approved the appointment of Ibrahim Shaheeb, H. Jeheyvai as the Ambassador of Maldives to India and Ali Hussain Didi, H. Male’ Thila, as the Ambassador of Maldives to Malaysia.

The report formulated by the Parliament’s Foreign Relations Committee following their review of the President’s nominees to be appointed as Maldivian ambassadors to India and Malaysia was presented to the floor at today’s parliamentary sitting.

The appointment of Shaheeb and Hussain Didi as Ambassadors to India and Malaysia respectively was passed with the unanimous votes of 46 parliamentarians in attendance.

Foreign Relations Committee has interviewed both Shaheeb and Hussain Didi during their review of the president’s nominations. In the report formulated by the Committee which was presented to the floor today – it was stated that both Shaheeb and Hussain Didi were recommended for the posts.
