Eva: Nasheed will run for Presidency in 2023

Deputy Speaker of the Parliament and MP for North Galolhu Eva Abdulla announced that the Speaker of the Parliament and former President Mohamed Nasheed will be running for Presidency in 2023.

Eva made this announcement while speaking at a campaign gathering held for MP of North Maafannu Imthiyaz Fahmy who is contesting for Chairperson of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).

In her address, Eva emphasized that in 2023, they want a government led by MDP.

“For 2023, we also want an MDP government. By God’s will, President Nasheed will be contesting in the 2023 [Presidential] election. President Nasheed will be contesting in MDP’s primary for the 2023 [Presidential] election.”
