The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) revealed that the commission closed a total of 588 cases in 2021, a 38 percent decline compared to 2020.
According to the statistics publicized by ACC on Monday, 782 cases were submitted in 2021.
Notably, in 2020, ACC closed 961 cases.
Statistics show that after investigation, 341 orders were sent to institutions for amendments in 2021. The commission stated that in order to attempt to retrieve MVR 2.1 to the state, various orders were sent out to the relevant authorities.
The report also highlighted that the commission had initiated the investigation of 24 cases. Hence, including these 24 and the 782 cases submitted, a total of 806 cases were registered to ACC in 2021.
Additionally, the report noted that in that year as part of the work done to create awareness against corruption, 1,775 individuals in 51 sections were given information. Moreover, as part of risk assessment guidelines, work was done on four papers, out of which three have been published.
