COVID-19: 459 new cases; 14,831 active cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Wednesday, announced 459 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 171,114.    

According to HPA, the 459 new cases include; 41 cases from the greater Male’ region, 371 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 29 cases from operational resorts. 

Meanwhile, 540 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 155,973.    

With the new developments, Maldives now has 14,831 active cases.      

There are 10 patients in hospitals.      

2,503 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 482 samples from the greater Male' region.  

With the 459 new infections on Wednesday, 3,618 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.  

March 2: 459 cases 

March 1: 463 cases 

February 28: 560 cases 

February 27: 484 cases 

February 26: 517 cases 

February 25: 507 cases 

February 24:  628 cases 

Maldives has recorded 297 COVID-19 deaths.
