COVID-19: 124 new cases; 2,030 active cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Sunday, announced 124 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 90,725.      

According to HPA, the 124 new cases include; 25 cases from the greater Male’ region, 91 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 8 cases from operational resorts. 

Meanwhile, 119 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 88,434.    

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,030 active cases.      

There are 12 patients in hospitals.      

4,242 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,030 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 2 percent. 

With the 124 new infections on Sunday, 885 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.  

November 21: 124 cases 

November 20: 137 cases 

November 19: 124 cases 

November 18: 74 cases 

November 17: 149 cases 

November 16: 118 cases 

November 15: 159 cases 

Maldives has recorded 248 COVID-19 deaths.
