COVID-19: 124 new cases; 2,084 active cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Friday, announced 124 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 90,464.      

According to HPA, the 124 new cases include; 20 cases from the greater Male’ region, 87 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 17 cases from operational resorts.

Meanwhile, 80 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 88,119.  

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,084 active cases.      

There are 16 patients in hospitals.      

2,955 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 833 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 2 percent.

Maldives has recorded 248 COVID-19 deaths.
