COVID-19: 149 new cases; 2,026 active cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Monday, announced 149 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 88,966.      

According to HPA, the 149 new cases include; 20 cases from the greater Male’ region, 89 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 40 cases from operational resorts. 

Meanwhile, 123 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 86,682.    

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,026 active cases.      

There are 13 patients in hospitals.      

3,117 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,007 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 2 percent. 

With the 149 new infections on Monday, 1,051 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.  

November 8: 149 cases 

November 7:  182 cases 

November 6: 119 cases 

November 5: 130 cases 

November 4: 109 cases 

November 3: 219 cases 

November 2: 143 cases 

Maldives has recorded 245 COVID-19 deaths.
