The Criminal Court has ordered for the husband of an IGMH nurse who died under suspicious circumstances last week to be remanded in custody of the police for 15 days.

Criminal Court’s media official Hassan Shamin confirmed the court issued the order on Thursday.

The death of the IGMH nurse on October 19 was initially reported as a case of suicide by hanging.

However, the police arrested a suspect – identified as a 29-year-old Filipino male - in connection to death on Wednesday.

Sun has been informed the police arrested the victim’s husband - who also works as a nurse at IGMH.

According to a credible source, the husband told the hospital staff that his wife committed suicide by hanging herself, and then later changed his story said that she suddenly collapsed.

The police found the death suspicious, and opened an investigation into the case.

Police are working on sending the body overseas for a postmortem examination.
