COVID-19: 105 new cases; 1,549 active cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Saturday, announced 105 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 84,971.      

According to HPA, the 105 new cases include; 21 cases from the greater Male’ region, 80 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 4 cases from operational resorts. 

Meanwhile, 104 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 83,178.    

With the new developments, Maldives now has 1,549 active cases.      

There are 18 patients in hospitals.      

4,026 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,438 from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 1 percent. 

With the 105 new infections this Saturday, 681 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.   

October 2: 105 cases 

October 1: 57 cases 

September 30: 89 cases 

September 29: 141 cases 

September 28: 95 cases 

September 27: 122 cases 

September 26: 72 cases 

Maldives has recorded 231 COVID-19 deaths.
