Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Saturday, announced 106 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 82,684.
According to HPA, the 106 new cases include; 34 cases from the greater Male’ region, 60 cases from residential islands outside Male’, 11 case from operational resorts, and 1 case from liveaboards.
Meanwhile, 138 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 80,374.
With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,070 active cases.
There are 18 patients in hospitals.
5,589 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 2,052 from the greater Male' region.
With the 106 new infections this Saturday, 874 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

Maldives has recorded 227 COVID-19 deaths.
Maldives began its vaccination campaign in February. The country has also begun vaccinating children above the age of 12 years.
As of Friday, 388,299 people have received their first dose and 315,029 people have been fully vaccinated.
