The Police have forwarded the case against 24 suspects involved in the attack on R. Alifushi Police Station, to the Prosecutor General’s (PG) Office for prosecution.
The 24 people in question are being accused of causing damage to R. Alifushi Police Station on 8 February 2012, during the unrest sparked by the change of government.
Police have informed that the suspects are Hassan Ahmed, 30, of Velaanaage, R. Alifushi; Hassan Nashid, 30, of Fasaana, R. Alifushi; Naail Abdullah, 25, of Roashaneeaage, R. Alifushi; Mohamed Shiyaau, 26, of Samantha, R. Rasgetheemu; Ismail Saaif, 26, of Habeebeehap, R. Alifushi; Hassan Simaah, 30, of Giyarest, Hdh. Neykurendhoo; Moosa Niyaz, 27, of Snow, R. Alifushi; Abdullah Niyaz, 24, of Snow, R. Alifushi;Ali Fayaz, 31, of Malaaz, R. Alifushi; Fazal Ibrahim, 19, of Night House, R. Alifushi; Ahmed Giyas, 26, of Berebedhimaage, Lh. Naifaru; Abdul Majid Moosa, 33, of Hudhuasurumaage, R. Alifushi; Adam Shareef, 41, of Vaarey Villa, R. Alifushi; Abdullah Hameed, 55, of Samee Villa, R. Alifushi; Ibrahim Shareef, 29, of Vaarey Villa, R. Alifushi; Yameen Ibrahim, 26, of Panama, R. Alifushi; Ishag Adam, 28, of Moonlight, R. Alifushi; Farhad Mohamed, 33, of Husnoo Villa, R. Alifushi; Ahmed Riyaz, 21, of Red Fish, R. Alifushi; Abdul Hafeez Mohamed, 27, of Husnoo Villa, R. Alifushi; Mohamed Ramzee, 30, of Shifana Villa, Lh. Lhaimagu; Shujau Ibrahim, 28, of Niuma, R. Alifushi; Ahmed Mohamed, 22, of Seny, R. Alifushi; and Muaviath Abdul Latheef, 30, of Scenery, R. Alifushi.
They are all accused of forcibly entering R. Alifushi Police Station at around 7.45pm on 8 February 2012, threatening the Police Officers, causing damage to the Police Station, and disrupting Police services.
Last month, Police also sent the case against suspects involved in the attack on Aa. Himandhoo Police Station to PG Office.
