COVID-19: 131 new cases, 92 from atolls

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Friday, announced 131 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 78,130.     

According to HPA, the 131 new cases include; 21 cases from the greater Male’ region, 92 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 18 cases from operational resorts.   

Meanwhile, 100 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 75,353.     

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,512 active cases.     

There are 24 patients in hospitals.     

5,198 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 2,380 from the greater Male' region.

August 3: 125 cases  

August 2: 86 cases   

August 1: 115 cases    

June 31: 123 cases     

Maldives has recorded 222 COVID-19 deaths.
