Maldives records another COVID-19 death, raising total death toll to 218

A COVID-19 patient brought to Hulhumale’ Medical Facility (HMF) at 07:00 this morning was declared dead on arrival.

Sun is able to confirm the identity of the latest COVID-19 fatality as an 82-year-old Maldivian male.

His death increased the number of COVID-19 fatalities in the Maldives to 218.

Maldives recorded its first COVID-19 case in March of 2020. Since then, the island nation has confirmed a total of 76,188 cases as of yesterday.

The Maldives now has 2,619 active cases out of which eight patients are being treated in hospitals.
