Maldives' active COVID-19 case numbers drop to 9,326 with 224 new cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), has announced 224 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 70,301.

According to HPA, the new cases include; 113 cases from the greater Male’ region, 104 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and seven cases from operational resorts.

Meanwhile, 1,937 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 60,769.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 9,326 active cases.

There are 88 patients in hospitals.

3,734 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

The Maldives has recorded 197 COVID-19 deaths.

Vaccination update

According to HPA vaccination statistics, a total of 177,969 people have received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine in the Maldives. 947 received their second dose of the vaccine today. 

A total of 313,865 people have received their first dose of the vaccine. 227 received their first dose today.
